Self-portrait
I set out to do a self-portrait thinking at least if i loused it up, I was the only loser! After working and reworking, I was fairly pleased with the likeness, considering it was the first portrait I had done in about 20 years. Since finishing it though, I’ve found that my friends and family are not at all fond of it! They say it doesn’t do me justice, though I chose the photo to work from because I thought I looked thin and I kind of liked the grinning smile. So, what are you gonna do? ;-) It was a heck of a lot better than the one I did from life, which will never see the light of day or cyberspace.
Ann Kullberg is hosting a members Theme Show on her colored pencil site and this year’s theme is self-portraits. So I guess I’ll get a chance to try again — maybe I’m too colorful a character to be captured in graphite! ;-b
